Message from our “Prez”:
Hello everyone! Hope you have all enjoyed a restful holiday season (yeah, right!), and now it’s on to spring and WARM WEATHER! This is my first official “message” as your new President, and I want to thank you all for your votes and your confidence in me. I will do my best to follow in the footsteps of our previous Presidents -- but those are big shoes to fill! I hope you’ll be patient with me as I find my way on this new path.
I want to offer a special thanks to Denise Irwin for her service as President of the Club, and to Angela Ross for her dedicated work as the Club’s Secretary. Sylvia Diehl continues to be our Treasurer – and does a wonderful job of tallying our dollars and cents – thank you, Sylvia! And we welcome Debbie Auld as our new Vice President and Tanya Hammel as our new Secretary! The four of us will do our best to keep this ship sailing -- we welcome your suggestions and ideas at any time.
Also, we will soon be having a meeting of the Club’s Board of Directors. If you have specific issues that you would like the Board to consider, please contact me directly so I can be sure to put those items on our agenda. Thanks!
Our next Club meeting will take place on February 21 in south Dover. We are trying a new meeting location at Tanya’s suggestion: Reel Fresh Seafood, located at 1151 E. Lebanon Road (off Route 10). According to Tanya, the food is great, the décor is tropical, and best of all, they’re willing to put up with US! What more could we ask?? The meeting will begin at 7:30 pm and our agenda will include the beginning work for our annual Fundraiser, Boat Drinks Bacchanal. We hope you have already marked your calendars for this event – Saturday, May 19th, at the Lighthouse Restaurant in beautiful Lewes, Delaware. This will be our 8th year of hosting this event – which has been sold out for the past two years and is considered one of the best PHC events on the East Coast! If you are interested in helping with the planning and preparation for this event, please come to the February meeting or contact me or Debbie Auld directly. We welcome everyone’s participation!
As always, there is lots of interesting news in this newsletter. Please note the many, many special PHC events that are being held – some near and some far. But if you have travel plans in your future, you should check to see if there is anything planned by a nearby Club. We are fortunate to enjoy the support of many other Parrot Head Clubs for our major events – so please try to get out and support other Clubs’ events. We all know that no matter where we are, it’s a great time with our fellow Parrot Heads.
That’s all for now…hope to see you all soon!
Prez Deb

My apologies(Tanya) again for the “open forum” meeting… next time I will be better prepared for such an incident… I promise!!!!
1. Tanya mentioned that the Southwest Florida Parrothead club is publishing a
cookbook.
The proceeds will go to the following charities: The National Alzheimer’s Association, The Cancer Foundation of Key West, The Bahama Village Music Program-Key West, Humane Society of Key West and the Save the Manatee program. The procedure to donate a recipe is very simple… go to www.fundcraft.com. Once you get there, enter Web Id: 1415-07SI. The system will then be ready for your input!! Everyone will be kept up to date on the publishing and on how you may order your copy! It would be great to see a bunch of Delaware names in the cookbook!!!!!
2. Tanya mentioned Mid-Winter meltdown on tap for this coming weekend…. Tickets are still available at $150 pp. Special rates for just attending Sat. and Sun. morning are also available… Contact Parrot Heads of the Old Dominion.
3. Amish Parrothead quilt: Members present voted to send a T-shirt to the Parrotheads in Amish Paradise in order to have our club be a part of the quilt.
4.
An Affair to Remember in Dover featuring Jimmy and the
Parrots (featured below) will be highlighted in the newsletter.
Next meeting: Wednesday February 21. 7:30 p.m. at Reel Fresh Seafood Market and Grill.

premier Parrot Head parties in the country is migrating to where the party
never quits and the city never sleeps, Las Vegas.
Why? Simple, we want the party to be louder, longer and more successful for
the charities that we support. No curfews, no noise restrictions, no
hassles. Better prices on rooms, boat drinks, cerveza and phood! Cheap
airfare from everywhere.
We have one of the best corporate sponsors we could ask for, our friends at
the all new Hooters Casino Hotel. Because of Hooters involvement we will
bring you one of the best music lineups in the country. To start, "Stars on
the Water", Hugo Duarte, Bob Karwin, Tommy Rocker & Conched Out plus more
surprises to be announced.
